Microfiber blends

Is microfiber, by definition, always a polyester-polyamide blend? I was using a QD and a microfiber towel to wipe off the car after claying, and happened to read the label which said polyester-polyamide blend. Did some research and it seems that all microfiber is some ratio of these two synthetic polymers.

In that case, is microfiber safe to use at all? I use a sheepskin mitt for washing, but read that wax, and clay-debris can be wiped off with a quick detailer and microfiber. Is that really ok? Or is it better to use 100% cotton always?
