A/C Controls with Voice Commands

Sorry if this is a dumb question. I noticed that when I use the voice command to try to turn off the air conditioning, the car completely turns off the climate control. Is their a way, using the voice commands, to toggle on/off just the air conditioning (while leaving the climate control/fan) still on?

"Turn off cooling" works.

I think "set AC to 100% intensity" also works. I vaguely remember trying it out. Haven't touched since it got cold.

Cool tips in this thread. I usually leave AC on 365 days a year. Mainly to keep the windows from fogging up in the winter. Also keeps the ac system working and prevents nasty stuff from growing in your vents from condensation.

Thanks for all of the recommendations. I never would have guessed any of these.

It is a good idea to use the A/C regularly even in areas with a climate that doesn't necessarily require its use.

But leaving the system on all the time I was told brings with it the risk of having it develop an odor due to mold/mildew. The vents are at some risk but the bigger risk is with the evaporator which collects considerable moisture.

Thus the always damp/wet evaporator is fertile ground for mold/mildew to take root.

To prevent this I was advised before the last use of the day to turn off the A/C enough time before reaching my destination and let fan continue to run and circulate air through the system to dry the system. The evaporator and the plastic tubes that carry air to the vents.

With my M2 shortly after I turn off the A/C I can feel the vent vanes and detect some moisture. But after a few minutes these are dry.

Also, it is very important to keep the A/C cabin air filter element fresh. With the A/C running all the time this filter processes considerable air. It collects visible dirt but also mold/mildew spores. The filter can develop an odor. So don't let the filter go past its change by date. And consider replacing it more frequently than what the factory schedule calls for.

Edit: I was mistaken - this turns the whole system off, as well.

I tried this approach, and it didn't work. It did the same as the approaches that I tried (i.e., it turned off/on the climate control entirely).
