Anyone tried the intake "sound generator" from a Z4 or euro 130i?

I am looking for a little more induction drama from my N52. Going to do the Dinan-style ram air mod. But also learned that both the N52 Z4 3.0si and euro 130i had "sound generators" as part of their intake system.

The euro 130i variant in particular (attached, not my photo) looks like it'd be a very simple plug and play, though obviously more difficult to source.

The Z4's as far as I understand actually directs sound through some sort of "medium"/pipe into the cabin through the firewall.

Anyone have any experience with either in an E9x?

Thanks!

The 130i sound generator (#13717559121) is a direct swap since it simply directs induction sound towards the firewall. I believe you also need a mounting grommet (#13711702508)

Yeah the problem with that one is the cost of sourcing it and not sure how much difference it’d make.

Today I put back the stock intake elbow which contains the sound generator.
I have a 130i.

Honestly, I don't hear much of a difference.
I previously used silicone elbow and K&n filter.
I think I'll try a little mod for the sound generator. I did it years ago in my e46 325i Compact. It sounded really good. It sounded much better than in the video.

There is some feedback in the links I shared:

"A nice background growl while cruising, and any change of throttle has a subtle grrr. Nothing fatiguing. Sporty."

"The noise sounds duller in the lower speed range and changes to a subtle, robust "roar" from around 4500 rpm, which is not intrusive. The interior is comparable to the BMW Performance Kit. Hardly any difference can be heard outside. "

There is also mention of a felt pad that can be removed to increase noise:

"A thin felt mat is installed on the resonance tube of the generator. This can be removed as desired to increase the noise."

The Z4 version would obviously be louder, as it pipes induction noise through the firewall and into the cabin, but that would be a custom install on an E90.

Also worth mentioning that I have a Eurobox and induction noise increased with the Dinan ram air hose too
