E90 ecu replacement
Hi so i am very new to the BMW world. and i have last year purchased my first BMW.
I have a 2006 BMW E90 320D I have had the AA out to my car as not firing, but will turn over. They have tried plugging the car in, but they could not get any communication off of the ECU. and upon further investigation we have discovered a very slight little amount of water inside the ECU box it sits in. Whats the cheapest option? Take out my current ECU, Have it sent off for repairs. and then re install and prey it works. and starts the car again? or do i need to go down the route of a 2nd hand ecu with the same part number as my current ECU and have that all coded to my car? whats the process? i dont know. Do i simply just order a 2nd hand ecu? or does it need to come with new key? to code to the car? please can somebody with abit more knowledge with these BMW's give me some best advice. Many thanks for taking time to read my issue. |

There is little experience here with 4 cylinder Euro Cars as we didn't
get them in the US . (for the e9x series) The most complete diagnostics here are the ones from BMW. Standard Tools and Ista D which use to be free to download from places like Bimmergeeks.com and you needed a K/D can cable . There are many ECU's in these it should be able to communicate with some of them . Aftermarket tunes can prevent diagnostic communication. diagnostic manual ista/inpa https://www.google.com/url?sa=t&rct=...xo19teM9vkTF-C https://www.google.com/url?sa=t&rct=...7x8H3pN8h1fMuF https://bimmerprofs.com/diagnostics-inpa-part-1/ https://www.google.com/url?sa=t&rct=...lkXEhlQYy4i9Nb https://www.bimmerforums.com/forum/s...-P-actually-do https://www.bimmerfest.com/forums/at...1&d=1590283589 https://www.google.com/url?sa=t&rct=...kBbC27TJLX3BGe https://www.google.com/url?sa=t&rct=...WekqhcC6hsgK2c primary links https://www.e90post.com/forums/showthread.php?t=1681573 https://www.nathansbmwworkshop.com/b...or-dean-videos ista problems https://www.e90post.com/forums/showthread.php?t=1661945 https://www.e90post.com/forums/showthread.php?t=1581663 https://www.bimmerfest.com/threads/t...-pdfs.1449540/ There are many ECU's in a BMW and you should have an idea of what's working and whats not before you assume something is not working. |
