ipod playlist question

sorry if this is a repost.

i have searched for 2 hours but still can't find the exact answer.

i currently have ipod video 30GB.
i have created different playlists in iTune, it plays fine on the ipod. but when i plugged it into the 6FL. it doesnt show ANY playlist.
I am plugging it with USB only. not the Y-Cable.. is that the problem?

or is there anyway i can make the playlist working? cause you know our car sucks. no random ALL songs....

any help would be appreciated! thank you!!!

In order to utilize the iPod features with 6FL - you will need the Y-Cable (about $30) from your BMW dealer.
