Comfort Access Range?

Any thoughts on how to extend the range of comfort access? It seems ever since I put on ceramic tint, the range of my lock signal is significantly reduced. However, unlock works fine from distance. Anyone else ever experience this?

Comfort Access is the little sensors on the front to door handles .
They require you put your finger on the ridges.
What you are talking about is the range of your FOB.
Yep Tints shorten it .

I was under the impression that Comfort Access and FOB were part of the same system. Yeah, I figured that was the case, I just find it interesting that it's only affecting the lock frequency on the fob vs. other functions.

Maybe I'm wrong . The car does have to sense and validate that your standing next to it
when you actuate the handle.
Mine doesn't always work with no tint unless I have the fob above window height.
I usually wear the Fob with a lanyard around my neck with the dead key for
water sports .(taking of the Fob and only wearing the dead key into the water)

Does sound like CA is being confused with remote central locking here.
CA exterior door handles contain antennas so range would be unaffected by tinting.

Do they contain antenna's or just capacitive touch sensors.
It has to be able to read that the keyfob is in range.

Page 34 or 35 of the 11a e90 general vehicle pdf goes into
a complete explanation of how CA works .

Comfort Access door module
The door modules of the Comfort Access system consist of the outside door handle electronics (TAGE) and the outside door handle (TAG). The following functions are integrated in each outside door handle:

a pull sensor to detect pulling on the outside door handle
a pressure sensor to detect pressure on the outside door handle (only E65)
a capacitive sensor to detect a hand inserted into the outside door handle
a capacitive sensor to detect pressure on the outside door handle (not E65)
a transmitter aerial to activate the identifier

From TIS.

So I think I need a new review mirror. The 315mhz antenna is in the mirror on e93’s. I took it apart and cleaned the connections, but to no avail. I’ll post either way if the mirror fixes the issue or not.
