Disabling/Adjusting Auto-Dimming Mirrors (Coding?)

Anyone know if there is a way to turn off the auto dimming mirrors, possibly through coding? I did some google searching and couldn't find anything conclusive, specifically with newer BMWs.

I get the point of the auto dimming function but in my opinion it is far too dark, especially the side mirrors. At night it can be hard to see anything beyond lights with them. I find it difficult to get a read on distance and any features on the car behind me (ie cop lights.) Not being able to turn them off when I want to is pretty dumb.

I guess one way for the side mirror is to remove the glass and unplug the wire for the self dimming feature...
