E93 Front Windows won't close properly - doesn't auto drop/close when door open/close

So a few weeks back I downloaded ISTA D and installed it on my Windows PC and connected it to my E93 and entered the VIN etc to see if I could connect. It done something but didn't really connect.

I didn't do any coding or change anything but now the two front windows when I try to close them they go all the way up and then drop down about 5cm automatically and every time I try to close it is does the same. But after driving it for 5 mins if I close them one by one and hold the button to close it will close then open 1-2cm then if I close and hold the button again it will fully close.

Also once the windows are fully closed and I open the door they don't automatically drop to clear the trim either now

If anyone could point me in the direction of the right software I need to fix it. I was buying a 4 series so wanted to get software that would work for both cars and have it ready.

Any help would be appreciated, thanks.

I wonder if they just need resetting. Something tells me if you hold the switch to open the window but continue to hold the switch for a few seconds after the window is down then do the same going up it makes the window relearn itself if you see what I mean.
I can’t remember which vehicle I used to have to do this on occasionally but worth a go.

Definitely try resetting them as above.

Just get into the car and fully open them in one constant press and hold. Then fully close the same way.

The car should reset the windows.

I've had this once or twice on my E92 when the battery has been disconnected for a while etc. Usually do the above and then they're fine afterwards.

Thanks nomiS330d & RajB

Tried it this morning and is back to normal now. Only thing was I had to leave the door open while doing, with it closed it didn't seem to like and continued to drop once it went all the way up.

Ah interesting on the door having to be open but glad it worked and now all sorted.

I have to reset mine every other day continuously, is there any permanent fix to this?

Tbh I'd probably read the fault codes just in case there is an underlying issue. Could be a battery related issue or the module itself.

Not seeing any codes besides the FRM short circuit code. Battery voltage looks fine to me. I’m curious if that’s potentially the FRM acting up or maybe it just needs the new window module.
