Car Shutters while reversing and turns off

2011 335i E93

Whenever I go into reverse the car tends to shutter, nothing crazy until this point. Just now however, I’m reversing to park and the car just turned off. The ignition was still on I believe because I was able to move the shifter between R,N and D but I would not move. Put the car on Park and I hit the ignition button and the turned on and then I was able to finish parking. Super confused and very concerned. Any ideas?

Will it move in reverse if you give it a little gas at the same time you shift?

I had this happen from time to time but not so much anymore. I do more reversing these days so maybe it is from not using reverse a lot?

My idle would kind of flutter around but only in reverse. I've done one filter change with drain and fill with that shudder fix stuff (lube gard) which fixed my shudder issue. Maybe using reverse more has helped clean out the system. Hard to say for sure.
