Hello all,
2011 328xi N52 Ive owned a BMW for around 3 weeks now im 17, just curious why after 2 weeks of buying a used vehicle with 1 owner 20+ service records am i seeing odd codes with weird issues, all these issues started 5 days ish ago and the codes come and go with on and off of the car. The main issue is the car hesitating after up to 2k RPM. This is my first BMW so im very inexperienced with this as a whole. These are the ID’s and codes that come up before this the car has been perfectly fine. Does anyone with expirience have any clue what type of sensor or fault this could be with the vehicle? The battery is fine recharging perfectly normal. Driven 1.700km since purchased and now having these weird issues. I changed the tires to winters no issues but now thinking i have 5mm hubcentric spacers would this cause any issues? Tire pressure is good so I really have no clue. Sparkplugs coils solanoids wheel speed sensor? Anyone have or experienced these issues? Help greatly appreciated. (edit) They are on and off for example i drove this morning 20km round trip and nothing. I parked the car for 2 hrs came back and the issues occurred. This is the endless cycle. I drive the car to work its perfect i start it 3 hrs later on break all these codes pop up after short amount of driving. Extremely odd. Thanks |

Welcome! Do you have access to a DC voltmeter? If so, measure at the under hood ground and 12v red jump points. Let us know the battery resting voltage, and also the charge voltage while idling.
Low voltage plays havoc with these cars. Also, a simple BMW scan tool code reader such as Ancel BM700 or Foxwell could offer many more insights without high cost. |

Hey Mike thanks for responding
So the battery on resting is 12.75V When the car is started it dips to 11.25V And then comes back up on charging to 13.75V I only have an Autel Auto Elite 805 or something so I will scan. Are these battery readings normal? The battery is fairly new. |

Update: Going Monday to my local dealer Pfaff BMW to get a full battery replacement and re-programming after speaking to someone i know whos a manager there he says its most likely battery considering all the issues/lights occur or pop up on the dash at once.
Thanks for all the help guys will let you know if this fixes it. |

Nice! I had some slow issues due to weak battery. Some of the codes can be attributed to a battery which is going out. For me I had a alternator/battery code but I knew it was the battery because I had been monitoring the IBS CBS report. So it was saying low % availability while it would shut off while listening to the radio with the engine off. It was evident the battery was slowly going out.
With that said I think keeping up on the systems of these cars can help preserve electical things like the alternator because you can monitor IBS and see when it begins to tax your charging system and replacing components where necessary. Replacing the battery is less taxing on your alternators charging system in the long run. |
