One too many connectors
I am reassembling the dash of a 2006 330i after replacing the evaporator, and have an unidentified electrical connector (? in picture). It is a branch of the wiring harness that includes the glove box trunk lock switch (1.) and the glove box light (2.) The white 6-pin female connector (arrowhead) contains 2 wires that are purple/black and white/black. The plastic connector is stamped BMW 6 909 054 02. I don't recall if the connector was in use or not, and I haven't located a candidate plug for it. Any help with identification would be greatly appreciated.

I think it is the connector for the footwell light. The footwell light housing is clipped into the lower dash panel in the passenger footwell, below the glove box. Find the footwell light and see if the connector matches up.

If you can money-shift it, it's a manual transmission. "Yeah, but NO ONE puts an automatic trans shift knob on a manual transmission."

Thanks for your replies! I did not find a missing connection to the passenger airbag. It plugs into a female connector higher on the dash support frame. The passenger footwell light has a smaller connector that connects to a short wire near the firewall. It's shown in the picture, underneath the wire harness I am holding.

Andystobbs is right, all BMW e9X came pre-wired with the connector for the switch that deactivates the passenger airbag. If your car doesn't have this option that connector is put on the glove box case.

Thanks to everyone for your help identifying this connector. It's a relief knowing I won't be tearing apart the dash again, at least not because of this connector. I cracked the center air vent when extracting the door lock/flasher module from the dash. Once I have the replacement I'll button up this project and have AC just in time for fall weather.
