Finally fixed a n52 with permanent lifter tick

Context: my engine has 120k km so not really that many km. Bought used with no service history available. lifter thick always present ALWAYS. Hot engine, cold engine, new oil or additives. Decided to fix the issue.

It turned out a lifter on the exhaust side was broken. Not stuck.

Decided to replace. Car now sounds great. Pain in the ass of a job.

do you have a vid of what the lifter tick sounded like? ive noticed the ones with uncurable lifter tick sound like ticktickticktick, whereas the ones with broken lifters sound like tick--tick, almost half speed, if that makes sense.

this is after the lifter replacement, the only sound you can hear are the injectors and a happy engine.

Conclusion: if lifter tick is permanent, lifters must be replace. There is no magic solution. The lifter inside spring was broken and the lifter movement was free, oil could not be stored inside lifter.

Update:
Life is good, BMW is running nice. No lifter noise.
Best project I have done so far with this car.
Only concern is I didn't use bearing ledge alignment tool.
