A quick fix with the soldering iron. Everything works! Remote, memory, everything.
I programmed a new key into slot 5 on my 2010 328i and it only starts the car, the buttons on the key don’t do anything, battery is new in it and even swapped it with the known working key, why didn’t the buttons work on your new key?

I believe you may have to sync the new keys to the car. There are a couple of YouTube videos on how to do it. By pressing the hazard signal or other way, (I forgot) while you’re holding the key at the inductive pick up coil at the steering wheel.

Here are couple of ways:

The 2010 328i doesn’t have the coil like the ones in the video, has the slot and push button start, comfort access would also make it keyless

I think the E series has their own similar syncing procedure for a FOB that starts the car but needs to “learn”. Google it.
