Leaking oil from filter cartridge housing

Good day everyone. I’m new to forum so please forgive me if this isn’t the right thread. I recently did an oil change on my F32 and ever since then I have been having issues with oil leaking from the filter cartridge housing or “cap”. It almost looks as if there was too much pressure or too high temps and the o ring expands creating an opening for oil to leak out. I’ve already replaced said O-rings twice and I still have the same issue. One thing to note is that at the time, I used liquid moly 5w-30 instead of what I had previously used, BMW’s own 0W-20 which has led me to believe that maybe the oil viscosity is too high building up an excess of pressure. I would really appreciate some general advice if this has ever happened to anyone else and If you recommend me something to do to fix this issue. Thank you in advance.

Looks like the gasket was not placed in the correct groove on the oil filter cap.

It goes in the blue groove.

Haha, i never would have thought that played a role in the leak. lost a decent amount of oil trying to figure it out. Now i just have to clean the ever living heck out of the engine since it’s caked in oil
