replacing radiator support
I'm wondering if any welding is needed to replace the radiator support on an 09 e90, or if it is just bolted on. Any insight on this would be greatly appreciated, thanks guys.

I believe it is just a bolt on item. It is pretty involved to remove but there is no welding required.

I actually do have one more question, it looks like there are 2 spots where the bumper is supposed to be screwed in that are broken, is this part of the radiator support? or is this a separate part that I can replace without needing to replace the entire radiator support. Looking at it it seems like it is part of the radiator support, but I wanted to ask to be sure.
Note: I know theres is glue there -_-, that's not my doing. Was the previous owner. ![]() ![]() |

I don't think it is too difficult to replace. I have replaced on on my wife's x5 with the n52 motor.
I have had the fan out on my n54 motor when I did an intake valve cleaning. I don't remember the radiator being that involved. I think you biggest headache will be the cost of one ![]() You don't have to use BMW coolant. I use amsoil coolant with a coolant booster. You buy 1 gallon at 100% pure and cut it with 1 gallon of distiller water and 8oz of coolant booster. |

Turns out it is very simple, just basically 2 10mm? bolts on each side by the fenders, and then its a few torx bolts away from being removed. To anyone trying to replace this part. just go out to your car and give it a shot. It wont take more than 15 min to replace after you have your bumper and headlights off.

Hello, did you need to disconnect the AC lines and discharge the Freon? I need to replace my core, but I first would like to know if all I need is coolant and the core support. |
