New speed limiting device required on all new cars proposed
What do you guys think? The GPS on most cars is showing the wrong speed limit, such as when you're on the freeway and it thinks you're on a parallel street, forcing your car to go 35 in a 65. |

My Stinger has the speed limit info thing and it's been right on pretty much all the time.

My 2019 7 series bimmer gets it wrong on lots of backroads, thinks they are 25 when they are actually "end speed zone" roads, AKA 55 in this state.

Should be a special license for those drivers and cars capable of going faster
I wouldn't mind doing it and paying extra,.like you would a race license Then all those left lane huggers will forced to stay in the proper lane |

This would lead to more road rage since cars with this trying to pass others would go very slowly around someone and back up traffic even more.
Plus there are definitely erroneous reading of the speed limit as mentioned. Also it can be unsafe at times to lose the ability to accelerate above the speed limit. |

I think there would be a thriving cottage industry in disabling this software. "Whatever can be done can be undone". Femto.

Why doesn't Gov. Nuisance just order everyone to stay home? Oh yeah, that already tried that, it was called "Covid 19".

It would have never worked in the 80's, but it would today. Currently, I'd be happy if everyone had to pass annual written, driving, drug, eye, hearing, and spatial awareness tests, and would be issued a $1000 ticket for left lane driving. |

I’ve been thinking this for years. Different licenses for different levels of driving. More training/ education gets to use the faster lanes and drive a faster speed. I’d pay a lot more time and money to do this. It runs into being exclusionary though, so there’s the downfall, unless you don’t require it to be more of a cost (maybe just a lot more training/ classroom time). |
