New exhaust advice please

Hi,

I’m thinking of replacing my exhaust system that came standard with my car, a 325i E92 M Sport auto coupe.

I’m certainly not looking for a ‘boy racer’ sounding one, but something with a bit more V8 sound to it, or as close as, if you get my point, and definitely not one that has a permanent drone sound to it, especially on a motorway. !!

I have looked all over the internet without success so I thought, hopefully someone will have exactly what I’m looking for, fitted to their car on here 👍

Any advice on brand and model would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks

Victor

You can't make a straight 6 engine sound like a V8, no matter what exhaust you fit.

Something like an Eisenmann is probably what you're after, not too loud or boy racerish, but lets you hear the engine a lot better than the stock exhaust. However they are not cheap!

As long as you have a resonated mid-pipe it won't drone at motorway speeds.

If you want that deep v8 sound you’ll have to swap engines or trade cars for the m3 😁 Otherwise, you’re just not gonna get a v8 sound from an I6. there’s some great sounding exhausts for your car but if you expect v8 you’ll be disappointed.

just don’t go extremely cheap/don’t straight pipe it and you’ll have a pretty decent sound. as rich said, make sure you keep a resonator on there.

good luck, hope you find a sound that pleases you!
