Why the diff on angled side mirrors?

peaceindriving Private 232 Rep 63 Posts Drives: 230i Join Date: Feb 2023 Location: San Diego iTrader: (0) Garage List 2022 Bmw 230i [8.67]	A silly question and maybe a little noob, though i ponder it on occasion while sitting in rush hour traffic. So why are some BMW’s with side mirrors like this /__\ while others are like this \__/. I can’t seem to make any connection as to why, but it may just be a designers whimsy. Any clue, or a forever mystery?
