Jb4 anti lag and 2 step on auto
Without responding that i should ditch my JB4, can someone please clear this up for me.
Anti lag requires a chip change and a wiring harness change to trick the ecu into believing it is very cold. This retards the timing when the volume button is pressed. It also requires a BEF to adjust the temp tables. 2 step on a manual requires a switch attached to the clutch. On a auto this is not required. Question. What IS required to make the 2 step work. Ignoring launch, just a noise maker in neutral? |

There's an N54 tech forum that's specifically for the jb4 and this topic in particular. I dont use it so i cant help you either.

ITs the best place to ask the specific question you have. There are less and less people running JB4s. Cool device but just not as popular since MHD was released. There might be someone on the Aussie board here that knows but your chances are much slimmer. 35 pages isnt that much to read through so ill take a look for you.

So, theres a link in the first post of the thread to another post from terry. It states you need....
1) A general understanding of how the JB4 and firmware updates work. If you don't know how to update firmware you probably don't have the requirements to run this. < have you updated your firmware ? 2) JB4 anti-lag working including back end flash map loaded all per the first post in this thread.< have you added the back end flash? 3) The 2STEP relay installed and generally working.<Have you installed the 2STEP relay ? 4) The firmware below which integrates the two together while under two-step. < This is the firmware you require. I'd start at 3000-4000rpm as a set point on menu8 and evaluate from there. The anti-lag integration will probably require some additional adjustment to our 2STEP targeting logic so I'd be curious to see how it targets various set points for various turbos and flywheels.

I see that you've posted in there, hope someone helps out. In the mean time theres a way to test a couple of things in a post a few above your one.....
hold the down button while pushing the pedal down(car doesnt need to be on) and read jb4 on your phone it should show -32 IAT. -32 IAT means the anti lag is working and the car will pull timing. This tests the hardware part of what youre doing. You need to combine this with the 2 step process to get pops and bangs<show boat mode

I would recommend to stay away from 2 step altogether unless you plan on rebuilding your turbos very soon lol. . Anti lag is okay though...works well.
2 step explosions in your exhaust will drastically reduce the lifespan of your turbos due to the enormous pressure....Sounds cool though lol. Subscribe to my youtube channel for more info https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCUH...np96CSleQFSvXw |

Can someone help me with this question i’m confused on, so I understand how 2-step and antilag work but I am considering buying the jb4 antilag chip and I am wondering if I have to buy the 2-step also or can I just get the antilag chip because i’m not a big fan of 2-step?
