Remove powered seats without power

I'm trying to remove a pair of front seats from a wrecked e90. I can unscrew the front bolts but can move the seat forward to get the rear bolts. Tried everything to provide power to the car but nothing seems to work. Any idea on how to get the seats out?

if it's a crashed car, the positive wire have a detonator on it, and i guess it got.. well.. detonated in the accident

in the trunk you need to provide power to the terminal after that wire.

How far into the trunk do I need to go? Cut the casing on the red wire and apply power?

not far
just follow the wire that connects to the battery back to the body
you will find a double connector for the + wire, just connect to it your external battery
i hope this image helps

I'm assuming you connect to both positive in the diagram and the negative cable at the battery termination point

you dont need to connect directly to the batt-
you can use any ground you like with external battery, this connection bypasses the blown + cable terminal.

this is how i powered my car after an accident and a totally dead battery

also i need to note, that after the battery dies the onboard CIC goes into transportation mode which limits car and stereo functions.

this can be disabled via INPA

For anyone who comes across this thread in the future I have made a video showing the quickest way to remove seats from a wrecked or junkyard E90.

lime Do you know what pins those go to? I like the idea of jumping them, but connecting at the pin in the connector would keep the connector intact.

Without watching it, I’m going to guess you used a 12-14v drill battery and a couple of jumper wires?
