Interview with me and my M2

Hey everyone!

My friend whom I met at cars and coffee has a YouTube channel where he interviews various car owners he meets at these events.

We met and he decided to do an interview with my G87 and I due to the platforms growing popularity.

If you have time, give it a watch and let me know if you like my take on the G87. We plan to do another one after my Milltek exhaust install next week.

Let me know if I missed anything also that I should highlight for anyone curious about the platform.

Congrats on the free exhaust. Wish people would send me free stuff lol. Didn’t want to go with the AA EL again?

Nice video btw.

2 minutes in and I agree with you. I will be 48 this year and really wanted an affordable performance car. I had always wanted a Porsche but their prices (even CPO) are out of control. It really got me looking at the M2. Bang for buck you can't beat it. I get it new, get to spec it out the way I want, and get a new car warranty...game over.

Glad you agree. I can’t really see another car that comes as is from factory in this same category for sub 100k NEW imo. If you spec a G80/82 manual non comp with the drift analyzer, M drivers package, carbon roof and buckets, it comes to 91-ish. That’s significantly more for the same car minus a longer wheel base (and extra doors).

That is no knock against the rest of the G8X platform as I am a fan, but you can not beat the price per performance on the G87.

Nice video btw.
I’ll be doing some marketing content for AA after we get some Milltek content finished. I spoke with them and will likely go with a single this time as that seems to lack popularity unlike the EL. I’m also a dealer and a huge fan of AA’s work, so whatever they want I’ll do a review + content on in the near future.

Curious as to how their axelback differs from Milltek, so might poise that to them as well.

Nice video - wish it wasn't fisheye lense though. I really wanted to get some clear video looks at that lightweight lip! Still like the lip better then the more common full width hollow abs/carbon fiber approach? Did you have a lip on your first M2?

Everytime I see a stealth/frozen car it makes me want to satin PPF my BSM. Looks great on every color I have seen it on.

I agree. I have an G42 m240 with the 8 speed and am missing the engagement of having a manual. I shopped for Cayman's, but the used market is full of 3-5 owner cars, and new is just outrageous adding options for the most basic features. With the current pricing for a new Cayman, its easy to add enough options on a 300hp Cayman to exceed $80k. My local porsche dealer had an allocation for a Cayman S with an April build date, but they insisted on adding 18% of the MSRP in options to place an order. That put the car at $95k and that starts approaching used GTS territory. I know horsepower isn't everything, but it feels like a bad deal.

My M2 is now status 150, so I am counting the days.

You will love it! I also went from a G42 to the G87 mostly just for the 6MT.

The biggest difference to me is just how stiff the car chassis feels (not in a bad way!). It isn't harsh or the suspense that much stiffer - even on MP HAS, but the whole car just feels tighter and more competent.

Acceleration wise I am not sure I can really tell a difference. If anything probably slower with me rowing the gears, but definitely more satisfying and engaging for me.

This is awesome! Very good overview of your car. You also gave me some more to think about with your wheel spacers with the wider ones in the rear.

I’m coming out to LA end of month to visit echo park Son1, it’d be great if I could borrow your M2 so I don’t have to drive around all week in his eurovan. Thanks.

Likewise, I wish the quality was a bit better on his page all around. I still am loving the lip. It’s very unique and extremely subtle which what I was aiming for. My biggest selling point is how durable it is. I did not have one on my last BSM M2, but if I did I would have gone with the same I think (if it was out then). Yeah, I am loving the stealth so far.

Haha no worries my man. Yes, I got compensated for the PPF along with all my mods + they valued my car at sticker which was what I bought it for. I somehow managed to break even over the whole situation.

Thanks! Highly recommend running spacers with a drop in the springs if you stick with OEM wheels. The goal for me is to eventually swap them and put LM’s on.
