Phone cradle delete DIY+introduction
Hello everyone! First post and I figured I’d do something useful. I ha been searching for a DIY to delete the phone cradle, and could never find one. Eventually I found a YT video showing two plugs, and I used that to get it out, but there’s a third plug I had to search for and pull the rear ac vents off for. I’m a 16yo who loves my Jet Black E90 328xi.

Something isn’t formatted right, but I tried! I’ll get better eventually. Third pic shows the phone cradle. Second picture is after it’s removed. The two plugs are under the handbrake cover, slide the case out that holds both plugs. Super easy. Fourth pic shows the third plug that goes all the way to the back, pull the whole section off gently with two hands right above the tunnel, or at the bottom of the AC vent cover. First pic shows the amazing amount of storage. There is a tray on amazon that fits but I didn’t feel the need to buy it yet.

You are off to a good start of E90 and any future car ownership as you seem to possess the most important skills: willingness to figure things out and share them! Looking forward to seeing you around. |

Thanks for the work posting this. Once you start digging in there, it's amazing what you can accomplish. A quick FYI, there is a little rubber insert that goes in the bottom of that bin, to keep things from falling down in there. Probably find one at the junk yard, instead of the $60 from ECS.
