Best AGM Battery Option 2024
So I did an AGM swap with an Exide FP-AGML5/49 back in 2013 or 2014. I’m starting to get a low voltage warning if I sit in a parking lot with the radio on. 10 years is an unbelievable run considering how much she sat. It looks like Exide does not make this model anymore, I think Bosch also sold the same as a Bosch Platinum, can’t find that either.
Anyone know what the high quality brand or swap is in the 2024 era? I’m sure Optima is good choice but any 250-300 alternatives? Update: Exide has a similar looking battery now minus the blue top — can’t find who the OEM was for the original. Anyone got one of these? https://www.batterysystems.net/exide...group-h6-l3-48

+1 ^ - my vote.
This could easily turn into another "what oil should I use thread?" If you have fat valet, Odyssey 49-950 is my personal vote. I got mine second one last fall, before FCP raised its price. If you are Costco member, they have Interstate Group 49 My 335d did not like cheap Napa FLA one at all - it was flat dead after 3 years. My 328i factory FLA Varta lasted for 10 years. My E70 35d factory 105Ah AGM is still solid after 12 years My F25 28d factory 105Ah AGM is still solid after 8 years

Personally i put AGM battery in all of my cars. If charging is correct and you maintain it they last 7+ years.
Also Varta = Bosch so just different price for your preferred logo. They are mostly the same with different logo except for Exide. Last edited by Captain Buumer; 03-25-2024 at 12:09 PM.. |
