Scratched interior trim

I put a verrry light scratch in the "carbon look" metal trim at the top of my drivers door. I stuck my hand out to push the door back open and hit it with the watch that I never wear.

Any suggestions on what I can use to buff this out without making it worse? It's barely noticeable but I know it's there. Thx!

Is it a textured surface, or smooth? If it's textured, you probably can't do anything. If it's smooth, for example has like a clear coat on it, then you might be able to remove it with paint correction methods (a little polishing compound for example).

Try adding some wax and see if it will fill it/blend it.

Mask off the entire trim piece and spray it with a light coat of satin or matte black trim paint.

I would NOT use any abrasive compounds/liquids on that. But I would try to lightly buff it with a slick detail spray and microfiber towel to gently knock down the scratch. Go easy, take your time and eventually work the entire area so as to blend in the appearance...

the interior trim stinks in the M5, mine is scratched as well. I ordered an overlay that installed in the dash, and it looks great. Deciding on doing the doors in alcantara or CF. Waiting for a sample from the manufacturer.
