(2009) E70 X5 - coding (Adelaide)

Hi all. I am about to change the entire Parking brake actuator/assembly
on my 2009 X5.
I understand though - that it will need coding to the car before it works?

So, wondering what the easiest option is?
I understand I can buy a cable that plugs into my laptop and pay someone
to code it remotely? If so - what type of lead do I need to order?

I understand that I could download the BMW software and do this myself - But I've never been able to download it successfully and if I did - is it the same kind of cable that plugs into my car?

I'm about to sell the car and replace with a company car - so don't want to spend a fortune of software if I can avoid it.

Alternatively, anyone know of a specialist SOUTH of Adelaide i can take the car to - to get this done.

Thanks, in advance.

Pretty sure a OBD2 port (16 pin) cable is what you need to connect a laptop to the cars OBD port. Here is a link below to locate it. Take a pic if you can
That said the BMW software isn't especially user friendly. Probably better to get it remote coded if you can. Eastern BM in Melbourne (https://easternbm.com.au/) might be able to help you out. Speak to Jin or Nathan, tell em Phil sent you
