Radio Interference
I got a 2006 330i with the base radio with no idrive and i get interference only on the FM radio. Was wondering if i could get any help in figuring out what causes it.
the interference only occurs when the engine is running and i’m either idling or have my foot on the gas. if i’m already going at speed and, while staying in gear, i completely let off the gas (closed throttle) the radio interference disappears until i put my foot back on the gas. same thing happens when in neutral except the interference comes back once the engine hits idle. i feel like it’s a grounding issue with the fuel system or throttle body but i’ve got no idea what to look for or what i need to do to fix it |

just tried doing that, popped the radio out and took out and reset the connections and made sure the wires were seated, but it’s still the same; radio works fine in accessory mode but gets interference whenever the engine is running

Just to add, the interference doesn’t start until around like 5 seconds after the engine is running, and it stays for a couple seconds once the engine is turned off
update: ok so the interference starts a couple seconds after the engine is running, but actually goes away immediately after the engine is turned off. the sound does not rise with engine rpms and is pretty consistent in volume and length Last edited by flameo17; 10-27-2020 at 10:05 PM.. Ok, this will sound funny but, do you have a phone charger/ usb charger plugged into the cig lighter? If you do try unplugging it and see if the interference is still there.
