Exclamation What is this Hose coming out of engine oil pan? help neededddd

Can someone please help me as i have this hose coming out of engine oil pan(images attached below) in my bmw E90 320i with n46 engine, my previous owner closed the hose with some pliers and i have seen in some videos that this hose connects with some pipe. please someone help me what i am missing, help needed.

I don’t know that engine but would guess it’s a PCV drain back to oil pan.

If it was the pcv drain back there would be a pcv system connected to it. Perhaps somebody removed/replaced it with a catch can (I think that is what it’s called, I don’t know anything about that modification or why it’s done)

Thank you Sabino for taking out time replying on this post, i have looked everywhere but there is also no catch can installed so i was wondering is it okay to drive a car without pvc drain back hose and no catch can.

po and u have been but wouldnt say its ideal. imo gotta take it apart and determine why and how the pcv system was bypassed so u can get a better picture
