Bumper scraped... what are my options?

Got unlucky in the parking lot… someone looking the other way scraped the front bumper. 🤦🏻‍♂️

What are my options? Workshop saying I need to get a paint done.

If you have a reaaly good body shop, they could patch, spot paint but the entire bumper would need to be re-clear coated and cured ("baked").

The real proper way of repairing...patch, paint entire bumper and clear coat the entire bumper.

For either of the above options, the bumper, headlights, cf parts/grille and all electronics/sensors will need to cone off the bumper.

If you have ppf, that will add to the pain and cost.

Thanks. No PPF, wish I had that done and it may have helped.

I got quoted a day and $200 from a workshop… seems to low and I’m not sure they’ll do a quality job. Decided to take it to BMW service today and see what they have to say. I’m hoping polish can take away the paint transfer leaving only the tiny deep scratch repair to be done.

I’m hoping they don’t have to remove and repair.

From what I see in the picture, this looks like way more than a polish job. I see what looks to be gouges around the air inlet. That will need to be sanded, filled, painted and clear coated (anywhere that is painted will require clear coat). If they just spot the clear coat, it will have issues in the future. How you want to handle is your call. You can go cheap and do a coverup job or do it the right way *I guess there are middle grounds, too). Not trying to spend your money, just saying what I would do based on the looks in your pictures. Yes, no matter how you look at it, it sucks.

I would stay well away from someone that qouted $200.
