You can reboot iDrive by pushing in the volume button for 30-45 seconds.

Why does BMW push a remote start update like once a month?

I updated my today. Second time in a month I had to update. I am just wondering why the updates so frequent for remote start.

One thing I learned is after each remote start update you have to go into the “climate control” menu on idrive and “toggle” remote start back to the on position. Super annoying cause I always forget remote start is located in the “climate control” menu. But, now that I have done that, remote start working again. I just need to remember the procedure for next month when BMW pushes another remote start update to our cars.

Mine came with car. This last one was the first time they specifically said remote start update. Had to re-code everything too.
