Same. I spent a lot of time drooling at the Nissan dealer back in the $70-$90 MSRP days…

Now? Forget it. And the used ones are usually fairly trashed with expensive maintenance waiting…

I’ve driven so many, I’d be just fine with the auto. Lots of seat time in GTRs.

If the M2 had a DCT, it could be a true GTR alternative. It would forever lack a bit of that GTR cool factor. Makes up for it in other ways.

M2 now weighs as much as the GTR, go figure

The lack of a manual killed what little bit of interest I had for sure.

Of course , the 3rd gen Maxima had the 4dsc designation. At least you can get a manual back then. The 4DSC moniker came back to the 2009 to 2014 (I think) Maxima but that had a turd of a CVT! I had one and got rid of it less than a year of ownership!

Bumpinjump had it right. I was indeed referring to the Nismo. Thought it was self evident given it’s the model the costs what a 911 Turbo S costs, and that was the whole point. It’s a GTR that costs what a 911 Turbo S costs. It’s baffling.

Yea. Had about a 93 Altima and a 94 (JAPAN) 240SXSE. The '94 was my ex's car. Turned it in on a 45k lease with about 200 miles short of 45k. The dealer was foaming at the mouth to get it back. High end Japanese paint, Red as a firetruck.....on that bitch. The leather was top notch too. Bitch kept bending rims. No telling WTF she was doing.

122 mph in the quarter mile is insane, and at 3.6 seconds 0-60 the M2 has to be one of the quickest FR cars out. I can't think of another.

Well then your poor communication is the issue. Not every R35 is at the same price point as a 992 TT/S. Yousefnjr made a basic comment about the aged R35, to which you responded about Nissan asking TT/S prices for them, which was too broad a brush to paint considering the basic R35 is half the price of a NISMO.

I’m not sure why you’re being argumentative, but I do hope your day improves. Maybe you’ve been stressed out.

But I’m not grinding axes here about this. I made my point and don’t wish to argue with folks about it, because it doesn’t matter.

If you think a 220k GTR is worth it, cool, good for you. I don’t, and that was my point.

Feel better man.

Oh I’m fine! lol! No stress here. I’m no GTR fan, and I would never buy a modern Nissan product.

Cool, then don’t go around saying “your poor communication” to people. I just made my point that Nissan is charging the same money for an absurd beast of a car that is the 911 Turbo for an old platform car (even if under the guise of “Nismo”). It’s applicable here because the comparison is the same with this thread’s cars: the “old” Z (Nismo) is the same price as an M2, even though it’s on a super old platform and doesn’t perform as well and arguably is less refined inside too. So is the GTR with the Turbo.

We agree, Nissan is out of whack! Who are the 3 people who are buying Zs and GTRs over the M2 and 911 Turbo? They must be fans of the brand, that’s just it.

I do hope you have a great stress free day though, regardless. And as usual, thanks for your service

Cheers man

Hahaha what a joke of a comparison

A Supra would beat the life of the Nissan and they decided to take on m2 🤣

I wasn't expecting anything less then a clear G87 M2 win. Had this been an M2 without the sunroof + with the carbon seats, the results would've been even better!

Big tailwind that day, but impressive nonetheless.

Only thing that surprised me in this test is that the Nissan cost more than the M2!!!

I had no idea they had gone insane on the pricing. I'm glad I didn't waste my time test driving that - I had a mild interest when I first learned of the new Z. I have never owned an Asian car - figured this could be the one to try. Then all the reviews were universally saying it handled like trash.

performance spec with an MT and LSD etc is 52k. that would be the one to in theory buy, the nismo is outrageously priced and they will make about 4 and a half of them.
