Wastegate rattle with JB4
Hi All,
Recently got Advan to install my JB4 and it all went swimmingly well... except the wastegate rattle on decel which suddenly came around. After reading n54 tech, i found FUD=98 or Future Use D = 98. Enabled it yesterday and my waste gate rattle on decel is gone! :thumsup : Just incase anyone doesn't know about it |

Yes, you need to set it with a laptop or if you have the bluetooth dongle, it can be done as well with a phone apparently. Make sure your ISO is the correct version. With ISO 31_9 or higher, it uses bits and requires the use of the newer software to set the bits. Older than 31_9 you will need to enter 98 manually. Fortunately with OSX sw version I could tab through and set it manually without needing to downgrade the version installed. |

Ill need to hook a laptop up and see what can be done, I also have the bluetooth adapter, looking at the app there is Future Use A and D so i guess it can be done there.

I find that I have wastegate rattles on 3 different occasions.
1) during idling 2) during light acceleration (most noticeable when driving around shopping centres at <10km/h) 3) during deceleration Setting FUD to 98, fixed 1) and mostly 3), however nothing I did (playing with menu 10 and 12) could stop 2). |

For 1 and 3, actuator opens up to stop the rasp apparently, but doesn't have the same lag as menu 10 which is interesting.
BMS have acknowledged that light acceleration rasp cannot be fixed via software if the flap/actuator itself is loose. But arn't you glad you don't hear that noise when you lift off the gas? Cause that was crazy loud for me. |
