N54 Alternator 335i
Hello everyone im new to the e9x community i had a e46 before and knew it very well i see that i have a bad alternator on my n54 (its a 335 but has a motor from a 135 i dont think it makes a difference both n54) the rhing is alternator For this car is extremely expensive what is a good cheap alternator less than $270? Please help me out thank you very much!!!

Not a ton of info in the post but check your ground strap first. It costs like $10 to replace. Bad ground can make you think the alternator isn't charging enough.
Also when I used an ACDelco alternator my car went nuts. I have never heard an engine run so poorly. It's hard to explain because it was just an alternator. Maybe like running on 2 cylinders idk. I had to put the old one back in. Ended up using a remanufactured Bosch which worked fine but my issue was the ground strap. |

In some cases, you may be able to replace just the voltage regulator. There are some YouTube videos showing more complete rebuilds also. I suppose you could also have yours rebuilt by a local alternator shop.
