e93 hardwired (yeah) - now concealed display unit q

I was finally able to get the the V1 hardwired (after 4 tries). The green + white cable on the passenger side is the one that I used to get power. The ground is where those bolts are (there is a small inlet in that area ). V1 works great.

Now, I tried to get the Concealed display (CD) unit to work -which I got recently (for xmas; and never used since). So I am using the cig outlet for that and have the CD unit connected to the 'Acc' using the small cable provided. The CD never powers on. I tried pressing that dumb looking 'mute/mode' thingie, but nothing happens. Is there a power button on this thing somewhere? Anyone faced this problem?

Can you provide any more details please how you routed the wiring and exactly where you tapped for power? I assume not to the wires under the lights above the windshield?

EDIT: Never mind, found your other post. But do you know what this green/white wire powers and if it is switched power or not? Does it not matter that you're pulling off it if you don't know what it's for? The V1 at most is going to draw 0.5 AMPS from what I understood, so I guess it's not a lot...

All you've done by using the cig adapter is provide power to your CD, which isn't enough - the CD needs to be connected to the V1 so that it can get the data to show also.

You need to run the cord from your CD up to the ACC jack in the Hardwire kit.

In other terms, whichever power block you use (cig or hardwire) needs to drive both pieces.

As for placement, I've put mine in front of the oil temp gauge, since when my V1 goes off I look at my speedo anyway.
