Aftermarket AMP in replacement of Logic 7?

My Logic 7 AMP shorted out in my 2007 e92 335i. Is there any aftermarket replacements for this that are cheaper but just as good or even better? Maybe even in the 200-300 price range? Don’t wanna spend 500 on a used Logic 7. Or even if there’s any adapters for this amp that fit the plugs in the Logic 7 shown below.

Thanks for any help!

Pinta to replace a logic 7 amp.
First you need to either code to hi fi and run rca's to the trunk or
you buy a most to analog converter to run a new set of amps.
The Logic 7 amp is 9 channels. So if you want to run all 9 channels
you need 9 amp channels.(They don't make those 8 channel dsp amps are pretty common now though)
AfterMarket stuff can be much better but it won't be cheaper.

There is a an Individual Amp replacement that has more power but it runs over 1k and you would have to upgrade
the speaker to actually you would have to do that with most of the better amps.

You are gonna need:

1) technique harness
2) great crimping tool
3) butt connectors (lots)
4) a few ring connectors
5) Separate 8 channel DSP
6) separate 8 channel amp

You can sometimes find a DSP & Amp rolled into one, but they will cost you $1000.00 or more. Most likely, the stock logic 7 speakers won't be happy with with any increase in power. That will be a challenge. If you want to upgrade speakers w/ out researching and having to think a lot about it, the BMW Individual Audio speakers are a direct fit and will handle 75w per channel very easily. You can get a used set on this forum for $650.00 pretty easily or eBay for around $750.00.

The preferred brands of amps in this forum are Alpine & JL Audio. Both make great Amps & DSP's.

Your cheapest option is to get another logic 7 amp for $250-300.00... otherwise, you'll be spending upwards of $1500.00 for speakers, amp & DSP.

Okay thank you. Is there any way I could get my logic 7 repaired from water damage or is it cheaper and better to just get a used one

I would say the Helix Amp Dsp's are ahead of the rest in the Bunch.
Audiotec Fisher. They are re marketed by Bimmertech and Bavsound
as plug and play kits for the stereo and Hi Fi systems. There is nothing
wrong with the JL stuff I just don't think there DSP amps are as advanced in
the DSP section. Mosconi also makes a good variety.

Curious, is a DSP really needed? I figured once you have an adapter to take signal from fibre to analog, it can go straight to the amp... no?

Can you please enlighten me?

Yes you can do it without DSP and it was all that was done in the
Past before DSP's . It's better to get a good amp
and speakers rather than depending on DSP but it can take
you farther if it's a good one.

It allows you to do some things you can't do without a DSP .
But there are various grades of DSP .
The early ones had some problems like adding noise or artifacts
of processing.

Oh believe me... I'm bought in to what a DSP can do for a system! I don't have one yet, but only recently learned about what it does, and it's now high on my priority list (WHEN I invest more in it, right now it's still in a good place).

I just wanted clarification because not everyone is looking for the same level of control (or investment), and you can still achieve pretty great results without a DSP (but DSP defo unlocks a whole new level!!!).

So I just wanted to confirm if it was a "requirement" vs. a "very good tool" to incorporate.

Thanks for clarifying!

If you want sound processing similar to what the L7 amp was doing, then yes. Just an amp without processing would be a step back from the stock L7 sound...so why?

JL Audio makes a DSP w/out the amp for about $450.00. If you want it with an 8 channel amp built in that gives 100 watts per channel, it's very pricey at $1100-1200.00. You might find it on-sale under $1000.00.

Alpine makes a nice DSP, but it's $690.00 by itself.

One of the two DSP's mentioned above will make it sound as good as the logic 7 or BMW IA system, if not better. No DSP, and you are absolutely taking a step back in the quality of sound.

I'm definitely not an expert when it comes to L7 (my car was equipped with base, "yay"), so I admit I didn't realize it already had a DSP built-in...

in which case of course you'd hope that whatever you're upgrading is AT LEAST as good as the outgoing....

Unless sound quality isn't a big issue, and it's just a question of replacing a faulty amp to get ANY "decent" sound back.

Cheers!

Well, getting a used L7 amp would be your cheapest route, if you currently have the Logic 7 system.

You are about 1.5 hours away from an OEM Logic7 amp repair shop in Riverside... search for it.

If you fix your Logic 7 system, maybe you can buy one of our fiber optic boxes. I can get it for under $500.
