Largest size wheel with ST XTA coilovers

Hello, like the title says, I’m looking at seeing what the largest size wheel I can fit up front using the ST XTA coil overs. It’s 2010 e92 (not sure if clearance is different for earlier years). Don’t mind camber, it’s a dual duty track/street car, once I get the time and it becomes a track car I’ll invest into proper motorsports coils, but for now these will do.

Also, I had talked to Apex about fitment and I’m assuming who ever I was talking to thought all ST / KW used conical style springs so he recommend max 18x9 but the XTA looks like it has linear springs.

Will 18x10 be too much up front? (Not sure on offset) 255 or 265 tire

Have you asked ST Suspensions to confirm spring dimensions or the like?

AS per Apex I reckon you could comfortably run an 18x9 wheel with a 255 tyre. I run a 19x8 wheel with a 12mm spacer and -2 degrees camber with no clearance issues on the outside.

You might be able to fit a nine inch wheel but I doubt a 255/40/18 would clear everything. I'd install the suspension, let it settle and put it on ramps then measure the clearances inside and out. Apex has a fitment guide on their website and I'd suggest taking a look at it.

I’ve sent them an email, waiting for a response whether it keeps the stock clearance. Apex says I can run an 18x9.5 using linear springs with -3 camber using motorsports focused coils that keep stock clearance. I’m just trying to be optimistic and see if anyone has ran a 10” up front.

I plan to run a 255/35, apex has already stated that linear springs allow a 9.5” up front. I want to know if anyone has tried anything more aggressive and if the ST XTA keep stock clearance like mcs,grouncontrol, etc motorsports coils . A little poke or aggressive camber is not an issue.

The spring shape isn't really the problem but where the collar will sit. Depending on ride height, you can fit an 18x9 et30 with a 255/35r18 tire. Anything more than that you're going to be playing with a ton of camber, wheel spacers, and may still rub. Much more inward than that and you'll hit the actual strut regardless of the collar height. You'll already be pretty close.

Just installed Apex 18x9 ET31 on my E91 with 255/35/18 Pilot Sport A/S 4's. I can tell you the 9" wheel/ 255/35 works in the front, but it is TIGHT with Bilstein B14's. Like less than a finger between tire and coilover in the front inside. Can't imagine you'd be able to fit a 10" wheel up there without spacers/serious camber.

Much more inward than that and you'll hit the actual strut regardless of the collar height. You'll already be pretty close.
