VIN Specific
Just by looking at this recall, my car qualifies. But when I call the BMW Dealers, they say they don't see it for my VIN for that recall campaign. So I called BMW USA today. They said this recall is VIN Specific. Even though I have a 10/2007 and none of my Injectors were ever replaced by BMW in the past, they wouldn't do the recall, which means the dealers won't do it if it doesn't show up in their system. I was hoping BMW USA would give some good news on it, but no. I also have index 1. I call BS because the lady was trying to explain why and it didn't make any sense why I wouldn't be covered if I'm within that Date Range, and I've never had them replaced in a past recall. She made it sound like it's not just the index # but the batch or dates they were produced, which I find hard to believe within that range of years.
I was hoping this was true because I think my injectors are starting to go bad so this would of been great timing. |

This is correct. I was told this was VIN Specific. If your VIN doesn't show it, they won't do it.

N54 Injector SIB 13 01 20 (SIB 13 14 10)
BMW NA is 100% aware of the Campaign SIB 13 01 20 is a revision to the "Voluntary Emissions Recall Campaign 10E-A02" which is
SIB 13 13 10 and SIB 13 14 10 if you DID NOT complete theses service bulletins then you are qualified to receive this service all three SIB are linked through the "Voluntary Emissions Recall Campaign 10E-A02". The Issue I'm running into with BMW of Murry is they lied, they summited the completion paper work to BMW stating they had done the repair, upon inspection they (Different service center) found that only 4 of the 6 injectors were replaced. The work BMW of Murray performed was insufficient and was NOT completed, the Campaign clearly states to "REPLACE ALL 6 INJECTORS" not 3 or 5 or as many as you feel are necessary, BMW of Murray took upon themselves to interpret the SIB instead of just following the instructions of the SIB , and the excuse I was given from Jeff was the service manager authorized the mechanic to only replace the the worst ones due to the shortage during the campaign... So small claims court, it seems ridiculous to have to got to this extent but it is only $75 to file with no lawyer needed, what boggles my mind is the cost to have a representative from BMW of Murray to come to court they would have paid COST and then some to have had just done the repairs in the first place? Let us know how the litigation goes.
BMW replaced three of my injectors under the first recall with index 9s - two of those have since failed and been replaced with index 12s. Seems like all 6 should've been replaced initially, so this could be very interesting indeed. |

So I found this late and like everyone else who qualified (partial injector replacement back in 2011) my VIN does not show up in their DCSnet system. Called the dealer, dealer says call BMWNA. BMWNA tells you your not in the system as "OPEN" so they cant do anything and if you'd like to take it up with the NHTSA theyre happy to assist. NHTSA then tells you they cant do anything unless BMW does another recall and that you can contact the FTC.
Soo I contacted the FTC and filed a report specifically about qualifying but not getting the work done cause BMW "technically" cant if you arent in their system. If enough reports get filed about BMW N54 injectors they'll have to do another recall. It was a 10min phone call so easy enough. Doesnt matter if you had the work done or whatever, just file the complaint as a solid to the community lol. Who knows, maybe BMW will be forced to reimburse everyone too |

Any more news on this? My car fits the dates on this 04/06/08. Still on original injectors at 59k miles. Called my local dealer and there's no recall for my vin. Tried to explain to them the situation and that didn't make a difference.

Any update on this I just left the dealer and they said the same thing that my VIN has 0 recalls and there is nothing they can do about it even though I have intermittent misfire issues where do I go from here?
