if you’ve been thinking about doing a cic retrofit DO IT. my ccc in my 07 e90 started breaking down and was stuck in a reboot cycle so the cheapest option i could think of is to upgrade to cic. i bought a cic display off some guy on fb marketplace (100$) and then went to some random junkyard and pulled the display cable (10$) off some random 550i and then went to another junkyard and got the cic radio (50$) from a 328i along with the usb wiring(included with cic unit) and the bracket for the unit (also included in the purchase of radio) from another random bmw that was there. i got home took it apart and put the new goodies in and voila a brand new car again. unfortunately there’s still no sound until my k+dcan cable comes in from amazon (25$) and i can get to coding it all (which by the way is super simple). when i do code it im not gonna waste my time with the navigation and combox and just full send a mmi box from mr12volt. i’m posting this to tell everyone that if you think that the ccc unit gets the job done just wait till you experience the quickness and efficiency of the cic. this project has only cost me around 180$ in total and it’s super easy. don’t waste your money with those ebay pre coded garbage kits. i’ll keep yall updated with the retrofit
