Previous owner didn't register the new battery

Yep... I just thought I would check because I had suspicions

Battery was installed at 31200 miles and not registered....cars on 34000 now.

Should I register it? Or should I just buy a new battery.

I've no idea how the IBS would treat a battery thats been used for 3000 miles.

If the old battery was about the same capacity and type as the new one, you really don't have to register it. You could also ask the previous owner.

Register and Monitor.
As long as it was close to the same size and type as the on that was in there before
it might make the difference of lasting a few years more.

It's already pretty far gone I think...I had a low battery message pop up just moments ago. Ignition on while linked via odb.

I'll pick up a new bosche one in the morning and register it with bimmerlink. Another 70ah one.

Madness...

It usually has more to do with time on the battery and if you drove
the car enough to keep it healthy.

Cheers mate.

I erred on the side of caution and got a new one from Sytner.

Old one can be my backup.
