Duplicolor touch up near-match for Sparkling Graphite A22

I have used the Duplicolor touch up on a number of cars and really like their pen tip and the brush tips is fine when needed. So I'd really like to find a touch up for the e90 I got recently. I realize there is no "match" but I'm sure something close for those of us not so OCD about it all. Plus from what I've read, the touch up from BMW is usually pretty dark in these grayish metallics. That and at a fraction of the price I'm much more interested in the Duplicolor.

So the color is Sparkling Graphite - (06 e90)

Here is the link to the link to the touch up's they have.

Or maybe you know if the color similar to Sparkling Graphite on another brand they might have a code for.

First off, I know how old this thread is, but the question still stands and I hope it helps someone. I tried the following on a spare body panel so I was able to try many times to get a good result.

The Duplicolor pens I've tried:

- Honda Modern Steel Metallic. Too bright and slightly warm relative to SGM, but the metallic shine matches fairly good.

- Honda Graphite. Too dark, actually very dark and the metallic doesnt show much but the tone pairs quite well. If you can imagine SGM but remove all the metallic bits leaving only a dark base behind, this is what it looks like. This is good enough for making small chips less noticeable, and at least better than an eye catching speck of white.

- Clearcoat only. This is actually a respectable option for thin scratches if you wetsand level and polish.

And then Dr Colorchip:

- Simply did not work for me. Looks fine dripping in, but the moment you work the paint with the blending agent it turns really bright. The dark base of the paint gets dissolved leaving the metallic behind. It' made my scratches and chips stand out even more. Multiple attempts and just didn't work for me.

I tried taking photos, but none are worth sharing unfortunately as it's too hard to really capture the subtleties.
