Suggestion: Check with Forum BEFORE Throwing Part$
Are there any engine performance issues, Warning Lights, or Other DME Fault Codes? The 5 Coolant Pump Fault Codes,
2E81 - 2E85 have NO P-Code Equivalent, so if your ONLY Scan Tool is a P-Code reader, you should get ALL DME Fault
Codes read at AutoZone, Advance Auto, etc. with Hex-Code reader.

If you have a Scan Tool or diagnostic Software (INPA/ISTA) that can Activate/ Trigger the T-Stat Bulb Heater, you can
test the circuit that way. Otherwise, a $10 Multimeter can be used. The T-Stat should still be working mechanically as it
should. It just can't be opened "Early" or at lower Temperature which the DME does, depending on HOW the engine is driven.

If the "Bulb Heater" in the T-Stat is NOT being Activated, that is likely due to an electrical Fault, F37, Orange wire,
Connector X6279 issue, or Ground/Signal (S_KFK) White wire. Here is BMW Fault Code Lookup Definition of that Code
& LINK to Fault Info sheet with "Service Notes":
P0597 | 2EF5 | DME: Map thermostat, activation | MSV80 | Engine electronics
https://bmwfault.codes/XMLDiagView?d...IAMgAyADAANAA=

See the attached ISTA ScreenPrint of the T-Stat circuit, with Lines ID.
