Do I need a new HPFP?
Hello,
I'm pretty sure I need a new HPFP but I wanted to post on here to get some feedback. The car is 2011 BMW 335i N55 with 112,000 miles. Here are the issues I've been having: >Longer cranks than usual >When car starts, it wants to do the high idle cold car but immediately cuts the to 700 (like if it started up without a cold start) It's also random. Sometimes it will do this, and sometimes it will cold start normally. >Car will start and the accelerator has no affect, I can floor it in 1st gear and it takes forever to get up to speed. When this happens, there is no engine malfunction but if I turn the car off and on it fixes it. >Around 90mph if you hit the accelerator, the car lurches but then kinda stops, as if it doesn't have enough power to keep accelerating. If you keep trying to accelerate, the car shakes. Like I said, I'm almost positive it's the HPFP but I want your feedback, thanks! |

Long cranks when cold was one of the symptoms I had on my early N55. HPFP replacement resolved these.
To make certain, I would invest in reading codes through a dedicated code reader or an app like MHD. HPFP replacement is not cheap! |
