ST XTA helper springs removal

Hello, like the title suggests I’m considering removing the helper springs to be able to run wider wheels/tires. Would adjusting the perch until the spring is loaded while drooped, cause my ride height to increase or decrease? My perch currently sits around the middle part of the adjustable threads.
