Bmw e90 leaking redish fluid from rear

Hi

Today i noticed that i have redish liquid leaking from above the rear subframe on the left side. Liquid is odourless feels like a mixture of water and a bit oily.

Doesnt appear to be brake fluid as its a different colour. Only thing that i know could be of that colour is transmission oil. Is it possible as from attached pictures? Car does not feel different when driving.

Car is 2010 e90 n47 with 46k miles.

Thanks

Christian

I would say your rear diff is leaking, but it seems to be coming from the top of the diff? Weird.

As Gaze said, inspect your rear diff for leaks. However, it looks as though your differential mounting bushing is cracked and now leaking. The bushing itself is fluid filled and when it cracks the fluid escapes.

Looks like the leak comes from the vibration absorber. (Part 6)
The notes says "Convert to Version 'B' for replacement."

You can probably just remove it. Mine was completely loose and unable to absorb any vibrations. I didn't feel any difference after tightening it.
