E90 DSC Pump/Module Compatibility
Hi all,
Long time lurker, first time poster. I have the trifecta of warning lights on the dash along with the codes for a bung DSC pump. My question is - are all E90 pumps and modules interchangeable - e.g. will one from a 4cyl or diesel E90 work with my N52 323i which is pre-LCI. This would be the process of keeping my existing module, but replacing the pump from another unit... I've tried searching the internet - plenty of helpful DIY guides available, but nothing which explains or clarifies pump compatibility. Cheers, Stalled |

you need to read the fault codes to determine the fault, but the 6 cylinder hydraulic unit of the DSC unit should be the same, the electronic modules are different, and LHD & RHD modules are different.
I've just fitted an RHD 2010 330D complete DSC to my RHD 2007 335i, which led to a 5E34 fault, which is another story..... david |

4-cyl and 6-cyl have different units.
There's a million different part numbers (seems like this part was updated many times) so it's not easy to cross reference. I installed a DSC unit from a 2011 316i in my 2005 118d. The numbers didn't match according to realoem, but it worked fine after VIN change and coding. The numbers on the hydraulic unit matched so plan B was to replace the hydraulic unit only.
