Major steering issue please help

Hi I have a 2008 E90 335i and have had problems with the steering wheel codes coming up the DSC active steering and the entire pressure unit I have replaced the clock timer in the steering wheel and also cleaned the DSC unit however the steering wheel is not a lining with the tires and is way out I've had someone read the codes which suggested a mechanical issues. No one has been able to tell me what's wrong with it other than possibly having to check this steering rack at the time my steering wheel was doing a complete 180 every time you turned on the car would move quarter around. any help would be very welcoming

What steering system do you have? Active steering? Standard power steering? What are the fault codes? What diagnostic software do you have access to?

There is a service function in ISTA that you can run to correct the steering wheel being off centre. Those fault codes are suggesting that the active steering control unit is out of another vehicle and the VIN hasn't been changed. You may have to code it to the car then carry out the active steering initialization service function.
