Cool lame AC

i know i'll probably hear that i should take it in, but i wanted to see what you all thought first.

when i turn the ac on, it blows moderately cool air (by no means "cold") out of the driver's side, but the passenger's side is chronically ambient temp. this is with the temperature down at 60 for both, the knurled wheel on the cool side, the max button engaged, and the interior recirculation turned on as well. after about like 45 min of driving, the passenger side goes from ambient temp to not hot as balls. i guess that makes the driver's side freak out and work all that much harder, but it's useless. the end result is windows up + ac on = sweaty.

does anyone know if the AC is has two cores? it almost seems like the passenger side needs a recharge. that, or there's an actuator somewhere that's stuck open to "suck in hot air and blow it into the cabin"... :|

any ideas?
