ISTA won't connect but INPA will. Help please!

I bought a new computer a couple weeks ago to replace my old junker of a laptop. I installed ISTA and INPA from the files from my old computer and everything installed fine. I went to test things out today and INPA connect to my K+DCAN cable no problem. ISTA has been a trouble though. I'm getting an error stating that "PAD is not active". I copied and pasted my ediabas.ini file from my old computer into my new BIN folder within ISTA folder on the C drive. Port configuration is the same as the old computer: COM1 and lowest latency setting. My Ediabas is set to STD:OBD and the TCP port setting is 6801 like the guides out there say. ISTA is set to Ediabas communication. The new laptop is Windows 11 and I believe the old laptop is also Windows 11, but it might be Win 10.

Any ideas folks?

I dont think so since the cable was working on my old computer today, as well as with INPA on my new computer today.

It was just a suggestion. I discovered INPA will connect to a dcan car when the switch is set to kcan. At least on the main page where it shows ignition/battery. I discovered this when I was going to do something on my wife's e83 and the cable was still set to my e90. INPA showed connected, NCS articulated otherwise.

Did you go to the configuration page on ISTA if it loads and set it for
the correct interface setting ?
Do you have all the microsoft C++ files loaded.

In ista go to administration VCI config and set the interface to ebidas .ini
If you can't open it did you install it and copy the password.
The only version I know for sure that works is the old bimmergeeks version.
(which is hard to get now)

Have you tried running Inpa functional jobs f3 and f4 to make sure it's communicating.

I have no clue if this is gonna work.im just busting my cherry on forums and I'm in a nightmare mess with INPA,ISTA,ALL OF THEM.my car is a crank but no start.2011 328i n52 e90 125,000 miles.i had a hole in my radiator so ordered a new one.ive never had heat since I got it 4yrs ago so I flushed the heater core while waiting on arrival of radiator.ive also has a very rough idle on startup.well I decided to trade the bmw so I wanted to fix what i could.ive done all tje work on it and there pretty much nothing on that engine I haven't had to replace.i can take it apart and back together in my sleep but suck at electrical stuff.so I changed the fuel sending unit and filter and put the new radiator on.crank but no start.well my starter had been given me problems recently and so trying to fix the crank no start killed it so I replaced tje starter with a new one.then killed my battery and changed it.crank no start.put new fuel pump in it.crank no start.put a crankshaft sensor in it cpl months before all this .checked all the glove box fuses and we're good but 1 that was to something trivial.cant remember what.well about a yr after 8 got it my fuel pump no longer primed when you opened the door but didn't seem to cause a problem.it doesn't prime now either when I open the door .I hard wired the pump straight to a car battery and it kicks right on but I don't get fuel pressure to the fuel rail when tested for it before or after hard wire.took off injectors and cleaned them.put rebuilt ones on yr ago.also had a leaking valvetronic motor gasket and changed it during all this.test plugs and not getting spark and changed all them .still no sparks.changed all the coil packs yr ago and they are good when tested with multi meter.thinkn fuel pump module.tested it and it recieves power when back probing but doesn't send Power to pump when I back probe pump.got another module cpl weeks ago I got ISTA remotely added to windows 11 .ista plus which I was told had p and d on it but I only have D and not P.i also downloaded and have INPA, tool 32,winkfp,ncs dummy and expert.bmw coding,Mike's easy tools,bemmer geeks.The thing is I don't know nothing about computers.i can't understand any of computer talk.none.INPA is in German and can't fix that because I don't understand nothing on videos I watch or forums that ive read and I'm flat stuck ready to put dynomit3 in the tail pipe and be done with it.i need help so bad it's not even funny but unless someone is patient and can litterally walks me thru how t9 diagnose and then I need to program the module heck I need the entire car up to date .I don't know what flash means I don't know how to do 1 thing.ty in advance for any help I can get.tu ty ty
