New to coding, is this for pairing replacement parts?

I have 2007 330i E90. I had to replace the DCS module and was told I had to pair it with the car. Is this something coding can do? I think this is similar to Forscan for my F 150 which I recently learned how to do. What would I need to do this pairing? Is it worth doing myself or would you pay the dealer $xxx amount to do it if you have never done it and don't have the equipment - special laptop or OBD. TIA

The dsc module needs to be programmed and then a dsc calibration needs to be done. This can be done with ncs expert and ista software.
