N54/N55E HPFP needed

Hi guys,

So what I knew would happen eventually happened and I need a HPFP. I was going to try my hand at rebuilding my pump but I can not for the life of me get those three pistons off the damn thing, it's ridiculous how many makeshift tools I've put together and torn apart and they will not budge. Enough is enough and I'm going to bite the bullet and get a new one.

Problem is not many places still stock them. I usually order parts from Autodoc and they had one OEM for 600 ish but out of stock and probably never coming back, MLP is selling refurbished ones for £950 which is just taking the piss when last I checked that's what BMW was charging for them new. Does anybody have any recommendations before I give the local dealer parts department a call and place an order?

Schmiedmann seem to be the only one still stocking it who will also ship to UK. About 150 quid cheaper than Sytner, but I worry how much hassle it would be to deal with them if it failed under warranty, as opposed to just taking it back to the dealer. £150 for peace of mind? Do you have any experience buying from them?

Worth joining the BMW Car Club GB if you're going to order from a dealer - you get 10% off parts through BMW Cotswold so you could save more than the joining cost

I ordered mine from Schmeideman a few years ago. I got the last part they had in stock under the old warranty part number in Europe I think. Arrived about a week later exactly as described. No issues.
