Just wondering if the Advanced one ever mistakenly filtered a real radar, for example, and it's not that good. I figure that Logic might be a good compromise spot?

I usually use the "OFF" mode when I'm in town unless I'm driving a little quicker than normal. My V1 never seems to shut up, but it has saved me many times as well, just almost gets to the point where it's "the boy who cried wolf". I'm sick of hearing it false all over town, drives me (more) insane

I have been using Advance Logic and it's been a bit more quiet.

I use the lowercase L mode for city driving, I forget which one that is.... I'd rather not use the "L" mode because it fully ignores some things and I'd rather hear a false alert muted than miss a potential real alert.

I use Advanced Logic (L) everywhere. I've found that the V1 is too sensitive for me. The Passport SR1 I had installed in my E39 was much better at notifying me of actual threats. The V1 just goes off with everything.

I have X band disabled, KA band sensitivity increased, and I run it on All mode regardless of if I'm in a city, or highway. Nobody uses X band here (except every grocery store door). I've noticed that in the city, they mostly use laser, so its almost useless in the city since you get maybe 1/4 second of warning when you get lasered, if at all. I got a ticket by laser and my V1 didnt even go off a few years back. =/

I leave mine on All pretty much all the time and just turn down the volume when i'm in the city. That and I'm pretty use to tapping the mute button so I don't mind. I really don't want to risk missing anything. That being said in the city you're pretty much f****d if there's laser/radar anyway since you probably won't get a heads up with much time. These things are meant for highway driving, and all the tickets I've ever got with the V1 on me were in the city...

Disabling X band helps a ton for the city. Mine was almost unbearable to use before disabling X. And I dont think anyone uses X band unless youre in the middle of the country somewhere that they still use dated radaring equipment. Its mostly K band which is rarely a real threat, and KA, which always is for the most part (unless its one of those fixed speed warning signs).

Except for New Jersey, where the State Police and many local municipalities continue to use X-Band heavily.

How do you disable and increase sensitivity for certain bands? I thought our only choices with a V1 were A, l, and L?

Ka increase... hmmm... seems like a good idea. I wonder why they left the default sensitivity to normal? Would seem better to have it set to the max, no?

Oh wow. I had no idea it was used anywhere but little towns in the middle of nowhere from what I've been told. I stand corrected.

Ya, you'd think so. Considering Ka is the most common REAL alarm, I want mine as sensitive as it can get.
